90 Day Challenge - Day 33

Hello everyone, I realize I am a little late posting but I just realized I hadn’t posted my exercise for today and wanted to share with you what I had done!! Today was the first day of Winterlude in Ottawa which is a very magical time for Ottawa. It is a time that we truly celebrate that we are Canadian. The Rideau Canal was opened up for skating and so you can skate from Dow’s lake all the way to Downtown Ottawa if you like. The problem is you have to make it back somehow!!! So today I took my son down to the canal. We arrived in the early afternoon and skated until the sun was going down so around 3 hours of being on the ice and or outside in the cold crisp air. We had planned to share a Beavertail but the lineups were crazy and so my son opted for a poutine and a hot dog and I had a nice hot coffee which helped to warm my hands and oh yeah we both had some taffy on a stick
lipsmack!!
It was a perfect day, my son and I both had a really fun time chasing each other down the canal and feeling the energy of the thousands of other skaters on the canal. I realized that I am not getting outside enough and am definitely not getting enough sunshine, but today I got both and I will sleep like a baby tonight.
If you are contemplating what to do for exercise tomorrow, head down to the Canal, or if you are not from Ottawa head down to the outdoor skating rink and enjoy the day!! I know that today I certainly did…thanks Ronnie!!

90 Day Challenge - Day 32

It’s Day 32 7 days since my last day off - of working out that is -!!! I love today lol!!! I am absolutely exhausted and what an indredible feeling!!! We had a late night last night with the body thoughts coaching group and it seems that I have had lots of late nights this week with issues at work so I am so very grateful that I can take tonight off and curl up with a book.
I was reminded today from an old and dear friend that life it short and we are not here to live a mediocre life. We are here to live an incredible life and the choices we make some of which might be very difficult are necessary on our journey. What holds us back from making tough decisions in life are our fears.
We need to understand that our brains primary function is to keep us safe, so regardless of whether or not our decisions are for the better or for the worse, they are seen with skeptism because our brain cannot interpret them as being safe decisions. So it will try to prevent us from making the change, even if the change would result in a better condition for us.
For me understanding that my instinctive reaction to change is fear helps me to embrace change and adapt more easily. Infact I love that I am trying to protect myself, but now I know that I don’t need protection, I need challenge, support and love.
What do you need?

What an incredible day today, I was at the Ottawa Business Summit and had the opportunity to meet and listen to some incredible talent in the Ottawa area. What an inspiring and insightful day. Thanks for the incredible feedback on today’s workshop Going for the Gold in Business!!! Cara and Les I am so proud of you both and humbled to call you my business partners!
Tonight I was able to attend our body thoughts coaching session and I want to acknowledge what an incredible group you are. For those of you that have taken on the 30 day challenge I applaud you and hope that you will share your journey with us.
Today’s lesson is about taking responsibility for your life. You are not a victim….ever!! When someone has done something to you or has said something to you to offend you or has done or said something that has angered you or offended you, recognize that it is growth. Look for the balance, understand that the people that are pressing your buttons are really messengers here to help you experience self love, which is what our journey is really all about.
So for my button pressers and my manny teachers, THANK-YOU!!!

Wow Day 30 I am 1/3 of the way there, yeah!!! I feel absolutely great, I can’t believe that it is already 30 days. I feel stronger and healthier. I am sleeping really well and I am feeling very proud of myself for following through on my commitment. You guys have been a tremendous support and I am really happy that I have inspired some of you to start your own challenge, you will be amazed at how the time goes.
I don’t ever consider not working out anymore, I just do it and know that even if it is late I will sleep better and I will feel better. I love that it allows me to release any of the tensions of the day.
So Day 30 today was a breeze!!!

90 Day Challenge - Day 29

Only 61 more days to go!!! Today was core synergistics and what a fantastic workout. It is probably one of my favourites because it focuses totally on the core. I am actually learning to love Dreya and the Dreya roll:-) okay so maybe love is a little strong. I can do the Dreya roll now and I am not having nightmares about the superman banana routine!!!
I have been struggling with doing my workout this late at night, I love how I feel once I have done it, but it seems that I am putting it off all day and then by 9:30 at night I am dreading it. When I am done I am totally relaxed and happy and I get to shower and sleep like a baby, but I am thinking that there might be a better time of day, where I can reap the benefits of how I feel after I am done while I am still awake.
I would love to hear from you to know when you are working out and what you like about that time of day.
Goodnight everyone and thanks for reading!!

90 Day Challenge - Day 28

As I wrote the title of this blog I am reminded of the movie called 28 days and Sandra Bullock who is one of my favourite actresses. If you haven’t watched it it is a fun movie and it is about establishing a new habit in 28 days. So today is a significant milestone for me because it means that I have overcome the most difficult part of the journey the first 28 days. Now it is a matter of repetition to ensure that my new habit of exercie gets imbedded at a sub-consious level where it becomes absolutely effortless.
I know that there a number of you that have started your own challenge, please share your journey with us, we want to understand what you are going through to and we want to support you through it.
Have a great night!

90 Day Challenge - Day 27

Ok so thanks for the feeback folks, and no I am not working out 3 x a day so I can hit my 90 day challenge in 30 days lol!!! I must have been a little tired last night when I said I was only 4 days away from 90 days.
On Day 27 it is a Friday night and I did my AB ripper X a fantastic program to build your core strength. I remember so vividly how difficult this routine was when I was starting out and now I can do the bonus 10 mason jars.
I was skyping with my friend tonight and it was getting late and I said that I still needed to blog and then workout and she said…so are you going to lie about working out? And I laughed and said as much as I would like to no I am not going to. It would have been easy, how would you ever know if I did or I didn’t…..well maybe if some of you live in Ottawa you would run into me and notice that maybe I am not showing the results of someone who is working out every day. I should probably consider turning this into a video blog but honestly you don’t want to watch me work out….it’s not pretty…like the people in the classroom.
So for now, you will need to take my word for it, and when you commit something to others, commit it to yourself because even if they don’t know whether you have done it or not…..you will.
In the end it is only what you think that matters anyway, isn’t it?

90 Day Challenge - Day 26

Only 4 more days till I hit day 90 and I must say my inner chatter was trying very hard to sabotage my workout tonight. I had a long day, it was an excellent day but I was absolutely drained by the time I got home. I snuggled up with my daughter and watched TV which I never do and desperately wanted to crawl into bed after I tucked her and my son in. But then I got this email. It was from one of our clients who is in our body thoughts coaching group. She said that she had been reading my blog and it inspired her to commit to a 30 day challenge where she would commit to exercising everyday and would send an email out to the group when she had completed her work out. Her email absolutely inspired me to get my butt downstairs to my workout gym and get it done.
I just finished Cardio X and I feel exhausted but REALLY GOOD and very proud of myself for having completed it. Sometimes we do things and don’t realize the lives that we are touching or the impact that we are making in other people’s lives. Thank-you for sending the email it inspired me and helped me tonight to stay on track.

90 Day Challenge Day 25

It is Day 25 and I am only days away from establishing a new habit. It is incredible how fast the time has flown. In Tony’s 90 day program, you have the option of taking every 7th day off or doing the extreme stretch. Up until this point I have opted to do the extreme stretch however today I will opt for a day off. With any kind of exercise it is important to give your body a rest, in fact if you were to work out everyday doing the same workout routine your body would become acclimatized to it and you would not achieve the results that you are looking for.
So don’t feel like you are cheating or that you have fallen off the wagon, if every 7 days you honor yourself with a day of rest.
Have a great day!!

90 Day Challenge - Day 24

Down to the last stretch of the most difficult period the first 30 days. Some days it seems tougher to build the p90x program into my day and today is one of those days. It seems that I have been online working since I woke up this morning and my back is sore and my eyes are tired and my body is saying….go to bed. But I commit to you that I am heading downstairs to do my workout and I know that when I am done I will have let go all of the troubles of today and will sleep soundly.
Begin with the end in mind is my motto for today. A coined phrase from one of my earliest mentors Stephen Covey. I am focusing on how I will feel when I crawl into bed satisfied that I have met my commitment to you and to myself.
What does the end of the tunnel look like to you? Visualize it, believe it to be true and do the work that is required to get there, you won’t regret it.
